Yes, volunteers need to commit to a regular, weekly schedule for a minimum of 6 months. Due to the time involved in bringing in new volunteers, as well as the cost associated with background checks for volunteers, the library only allows volunteers to begin when they have committed to a schedule and a minimum length of volunteer service.
Library volunteers help kids and teens with homework, tutor adult English learners, assist librarians with programs and events, facilitate book discussion groups and more. Volunteering is a great way to provide meaningful service to our community and to meet people from all walks of life.
